Termites are proof that size has nothing to do with what you can do. Unfortunately, what tiny termites can do is a lot of damage, particularly to wood and structures that have an impact to human economy and life. It is estimated that termites can cause over a billion dollars in property damage annually, far more than fires or floods combined can. Extensive termite damage is not only very expensive, it is also capable of destroying many things we consider precious – our homes, irreplaceable objects, old structures, ancestral estates, historical buildings, etc.
Termites devastate through United States each year and they leave behind damages that are worth millions, if not billions, of dollars. There are many methods of killing these pests and one of the most powerful and proven technique is fumigation. Fumigation is the method of termite elimination from homes or buildings and this act is accomplished with the use of poisonous gas.
Probably the most prolific and common termite in the United States is the Eastern subterranean termite or Reticulitermes flavipes. It is widely distributed throughout the country and is commonly found in majority of eastern U.S. states.
Termites. Probably no other insect in the world that is this small has caused so much damage to humans. Termites are some of the most widely distributed insects in the world. Of the more than 2,000 species of termites, over 55 species live in the U.S. These pests begin life as termite eggs, growing into adult termites who then perform different tasks, depending on which castes they belong to.
